Barbara Ebel, M.D., although now disabled from the field of anesthesiology, continues her M.D. licensure credentials, lectures on medical topics, and has been a primary care physician in volunteer clinics and a medical expedition. Her undergrad major was Chemistry, her Medical School and Residency training was done at the University of Louisville, and she practiced in two different states. From rendering anesthesia for heart, lung, and liver transplants to childrens' tonsillectomies, she accumulated as many 'personal' stories of health care workers as professional experience along the way. Her credible medical plots are rich with her characters' personal lives as well.
Dr. Barbara is also an accomplished dog trainer. One of her dogs, a therapy dog for ten years, is the star of her children's five-book series "Chester the Chesapeake." Presently, she runs three dogs at agility trials where they do very well despite her physical handicap. In essence, you will read about a dog in almost every one of her novels...each one modelled after one of her own four-legged friends.
Although she has lived up and down the East Coast, Dr. Ebel has now lived in Tennessee for twenty years.

Although it focuses mainly on physicians, residents, and medical students, the principles apply to the lives of all professionals. After the podcast is a book trailer for Outcome, a Novel, and Operation Neurosurgeon.
